HoYoverse officially unveiled Petit Planet during Tokyo Game Show 2025, marking the company’s first entry into the life simulation genre. Presented with the tagline 'Weave Your Dreams Beneath the Stars,' the game invites players to nurture their own planet and gradually connect to a wider galaxy.
At its core, Petit Planet revolves around Luca, the energy of each planet, which shapes diverse landscapes as bonds deepen and worlds flourish. Players can plant exotic crops, fish along coasts, mine resources, cook hidden recipes, and craft items to personalize their planet.
The game emphasizes social interactions through fuzzy Neighbors, charming companions with distinct personalities. These characters can be invited to settle permanently, befriend through conversations and gifts, or accompany players on adventures across the stars.
Social features extend to Starsea Voyages, where players travel with Neighbors to new islets and rare discoveries, and the Galactic Bazaar, a hub for festivals, multiplayer events, and casual conversations with other players.
Visually, Petit Planet adopts a stylized 3D art direction with chibi-like proportions, offering a whimsical and cozy atmosphere. Confirmed for PC, iOS, and Android, the game also has additional platforms in development, with speculation about a potential debut on Nintendo Switch.
Sign-ups for the first closed beta, named the 'Coziness Test,' are now open on the official website. The beta is available on Windows PC and iOS devices, supports multiple languages, and invites players to share impressions, though progress will not carry over.
